Since I have returned to painting after a very long hiatus, I tend to view everything around me now with a different outlook. Light and shadow and textures on a subject at different times of day and different seasons create interesting and varied results. I find myself deliberately returning at different times to the same place to capture the radical changes to a subject before deciding which mood moves me most to paint.  If  I can't find one that speaks to me I abandon the subject and move on.
